Description
In cases where it is not possible to build a traditional garage, there is an interesting alternative available — an elegant solution in the form of a solar carport. The carport is made of steel, is resistant to wind and water, and can be implemented in two variants — with a classic photovoltaic system or with special solar roofing. It is a combination of technology, design, and functionality. Among other things, the shelters protect vehicles from adverse weather conditions such as summer heat waves and hailstorms.
Economic benefits
Similar to standard photovoltaic systems, these shelters help reduce electricity costs and increase self-sufficiency. When used commercially in larger parking lots, solar shelters can provide an additional source of income for the parking lot operator.
Environmental benefits
Generating electricity from the sun helps reduce dependence on fossil fuels and thus also helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Furthermore, using electricity generated from Sun's radiation indirectly contributes to improving air quality.
Examples of implementation of the solution in practice
The solar shelter was specially designed and installed, for example, in Malacky, Slovakia.
