Description

ORIENS’ solution focuses on the environmentally friendly processing of end-of-life or damaged photovoltaic panels using state-of-the-art recycling processes. With the growing number of installed solar power plants, there is a need for an effective system for collecting and recycling panels at the end of their useful life. 

The process includes: 

• collection and handover of panels — panels can be picked up directly from individual customers, or customers can deliver them to the facility in Hliník nad Hronom, 
• disassembly and sorting — panels are mechanically processed and separated into individual materials (glass, aluminum, copper, silicon, and other components),
• recycling — the recovered materials can be used in the manufacture of new products.

This solution supports the principles of the circular economy and enables the reuse of valuable raw materials in production. This reduces the need to extract primary resources and the environmental impact associated with the production of new materials. ORIENS also collaborates with partners in the energy, waste management, and industrial sectors to build an effective system for the collection and recycling of photovoltaic equipment in Slovakia and abroad.
